Ventilatory Assistance in the Hospital or Home
Designed to provide ventilatory assistance, ResMed's SULLIVAN VPAP II ST‑A delivers quiet, comfortable, bilevel therapy with smooth pressure transitions. A range of operating modes and adjustable features like IPAP Max™ and rise time make the VPAP II ST‑A suitable for a range of patients with respiratory insufficiency and obstructive sleep apnea. Safety is assured with both audio and visual alarms that activate when power fails or pressure becomes too low or too high.
Features
- TiCONTROL™ allows treatment customization for different clinical situations and ensures more appropriate cycling in the presence of large leaks.
- Vsync™ maintains reliable breath triggering in the face of changing leak.
- LCD display provides easy-to-use setting menus, as well as tidal volume and leak monitoring for the assessment of mask fit and evaluation of the effects of changing pressures.
- Adjustable rise time (msecs) allows clinicians to set rate of pressure change, according to the inspiratory needs of the patient.
- Mask alarm activates in the presence of a high mask leak.
- Four operating modes include Spontaneous, Timed, Spontaneous/Timed, and CPAP.
- True pressure regulation ensures proper treatment pressure.
- Audio alarm sounds in case of power failure and improper pressure.
- Visual alarm displays in case of power failure and improper pressure.
- SmartStart® automatically starts and stops the device.
- LCD pressure indicator verifies that correct pressure is being delivered.
- Automatic internal power converter enables trouble-free international travel.
- Automatic altitude adjustment maintains treatment pressure at any altitude.
- Built-in security feature ensures patients do not change therapy settings .
- Internal memory records mask-on hours for accurate compliance data.
- Internal memory stores 200 nights of date-stamped compliance data that can be. downloaded and saved in patient files when using AutoScan software.
- Backlit LCD screen facilitates programming and checking patient parameters.
- Backlit silicone buttons make programming and nighttime adjustments easy.
Benefits of the ResMed SULLIVAN VPAP II ST-A
-
VPAP provides optimal patient/ventilator synchronization with automatic leak compensation (Vsync) and the ability to control inspiratory time (TiCONTROL).
-
VPAP gives clinicians ability to assess for mask fit and evaluate the effects of changing pressures via real time LCD monitoring of tidal volume and leak.
-
Ability to enter parameters and adjust settings directly makes programming easy when using the buttons and LCD display.
- Clinicians may also use the ResControl to program the device or adjust settings remotely.
- Extremely quiet operation doesn't disturb users or their bed partners.
- Very comfortable air delivery and pressure transitions minimize sleep disturbances caused by many devices.
-
VPAP's light weight and its convenient handle makes the device great for travel.
ResMed VPAP II Systems: Designed for Optimal Synchronization
Recent studies show that all bilevel therapy patients using nasal masks experience mouth leaks, which interfere with a bilevel device's cycling sensitivity. The result is poor synchronization, which forces patients to exhale against a higher pressure, increasing work of breathing and causing fragmented sleep, muscle fatigue, and reduced compliance.
ResMed VPAP II systems provide three levels of defense to counteract the effects of mouth and mask leaks: ResMed's world-leading mask designs, including the Mirage® Full Face Mask Series 2, Vsync technology, and patented TiCONTROL features.
ResMed SULLIVAN VPAP II ST-A is compatible with
